Holy Week in Úbeda is celebrated in Spring, and has been declarated (the same as the Holy Week of Baeza) of National Touristic Interest. The Holy Week in Úbeda mixes in its identity the austerity of this celebration in Castilla and the colouristic style of Andalusia, giving as a result an original model of religious celebration. A lot of people participate in the Holy Week, and so there are more than twenty brotherhoods (some of them exist since the XV century.) Some of the most important processions in Úbeda are "Nuestro Padre Jesús Nazareno" and the "Virgen de la Merced". |
